What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and hand back on your next request. It is how a site remembers that you already dismissed the consent banner, and it is also how an ad network avoids showing you the same ad forty times. Some cookies are deleted when you close the browser (session cookies); others sit there for months (persistent cookies).
The same rules apply to a few related technologies — local storage, pixels and tags — and we treat them identically here.
Your choice
The consent banner appears on your first visit and records your answer. To change it later, use the cookie settings link in the site footer. You can also delete cookies from your browser at any time, which resets everything, or block them entirely in your browser settings.
Declining statistics and advertising cookies costs you nothing on this site. Every guide, table and calculator stays fully available. Ads will still appear — they will simply be chosen without any profile of you.

Performance and delivery
Our caching layer and image optimiser may write short-lived files or headers to speed up delivery. They carry no identifier and are not used for tracking.

Managing cookies in your browser

Changes
